Session #66 - Encouraging Productive Student Discussions Around Arguments in Science

Come learn how to engage your students in productive science discussions! In this session, I will share activities instructional strategies and classroom videos focused on facilitating student discussions around evidence. You will also get the chance to engage in two different activities that are designed to support science discussions: 1) a card sort, and 2) a science seminar. Strategies for planning lessons, leveraging student talk to support writing, and creating a classroom culture of argumentation will be also be discussed.
